Speaker: Peter Troch
Professor of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences
Meet Peter Troch, an esteemed hydrologist. His research explores catchment hydrology using various methods like data collection, experimentation, modeling, and remote sensing. He aims to understand hydrological systems, from partitioning to catchment evolution in response to climate and geology. Troch also forecasts hydrologic responses in changing environments, benefiting areas like semi-arid mountains and flash flood prediction. As Biosphere 2's Science Director since 2012, he oversees research. Troch's achievements include receiving the Dalton Medal from the EGU in 2012 and being elected as an AGU Fellow in 2015. Starting in 2024, he will lead the Hydrology and Atmospheric Science Department.
